ABSTRACT
This text discuss to present and analyze the activities with students of a school in São Carlos, SP, Brazil taking as central thematic relations ethno-racial focusing on the discussion of identity formation about children. Considering the school as part of the society that builds and contributes to the spread of knowledge prejudiced, racist and discriminatory, homogenizing cultures, exalting one and abash other. Based on these ideas, this article seeks to discuss the relationships of overcoming prejudice and racist and above all to increase the value of the identity of black children, so that they can have their history and culture valued. To this end, we emphasize the importance and urgency of the discussion of this topic in initial and continuing teacher education also. The Pibid is one of the possibilities to meet and have contact from the beginning of teaching with a topic so relevant and important for overcoming inequalities.
