ABSTRACT
The dental germ in development is sensible to a variety of local and systemic disturbs. These disturbs plus the heredity factor are the possible etiology of enamel hypoplasia. The hypoplasic enamel may present defects in its structure, what increases its cariogenic potential. This care has the purpose to report the use of Papacarie in this defect tissue which presented a caries lesion in the number 16 tooth of a patient at the Odontohebiatrics clinic in Uninove. Papacárie is a gel developed to make the chemo mechanical caries removal, which has a papain base that along the chloramines act at the pre-degraded collagen in the caries lesion permitting its removal with the use of rhombus curettes. After the decayed tissue removal, the tooth was restored with quick tusk glass ionomer cement (Ketac Molar EasyMix-3M/Espe).
