ABSTRACT
In this research, it was examined whether regular badminton training programs during 12 weeks have an effect on level of neurotic problems in first-step primary school children. Research group consists of 40 students (26 male, 14 female) that were selected by random sampling method from Kutukçu Ali Bey primary school and Nihat Basakar primary school in Altindag in Ankara. The research was figured by an experimental type with preliminary test-final test control group. Groups were determined closely according to numerical values and characterisric values. After applying Hacettepe Emotional Adjustment Scale (HEAC) to children’s mothers, pre-test results were evaluated and two (2) groups created randomly consisting of 20 persons each. Experimental group was trained regularly 4 days a week and 2 hours each day during 12 weeks. Control group was not trained. Both groups were applied HEAC before and after the program. SPSS11.0 analyze program and independent samples t test, dependent samples t test techniques were used while analyzing data. As the results of our research; there are no significant differences between groups according the pre-test level of neurotic problems. There are significant differences between pre-test and post-test points in practice group. As result, it is thought that the significant differences in favor of practice group are because of regular badminton training programs.
