ABSTRACT
AI Techniques are best techniques for dealing withcomplex and dynamic problems of urban studies. They give abetter way for analysis of urban growth. Major objective of thisstudy is to review recent developments in the field of urbanplanning & AI. The purpose of this article is to explore howartificial echniques have been applied for urban dynamicplanning processes. For this, the authors have reviewed theapplication of AI techniques in urban land dynamics. This paperdiscusses how cellular Automata, Fuzzy Logic, Neural Networkshave been applied for Urban Planning due to theunpredictability, instability, uncomputability, irreducibility andemergence that exists in the process of urban evolution. Theauthors conclude that AI based approaches offer possiblesolutions for urban dynamics.
