Anorexia nervosa is mainly characterized by bodyweight loss forced by the patient, fear of gainingweight, disturbance in the way in which one’s bodyweight or shape is experienced, hormonal disturbances(amenorrhea in women). Although, not included inclassification systems, overt motor activity is frequentconcomitant sign in anorexia nervosa. This paperpresents three case studies of anorexia nervosa patientscharacterized by altered motor activity. Three of themrepresent different types of that phenomenon (changingof lifestyle, forced exercises, continuous restlessness).Psychological concepts of etiology, prognosis of motoroveractivity phenomenon in anorexia nervosa werediscussed.
