The project "Secure Voice over Public Internet", SVoPI, investigates new approaches to deliver at the same time secure and user friendly voice services over public Internet. The feasibility of voice communication with key exchange from end to end without the use of a public key infrastructure is to be demonstrated with Softphones. The goal is to start the clients from a Web Browser without the need to install manually a program on the local computer. The advantage of our solution is that the client can be used by non-professionalsin the area of security, since no X.509-certificates have to be installed.
