Sequestered standing carbon stock in selective tree species grown in University campus at Aurangabad, Maharashtra, India.

The study of total carbon sequestered in trees in the campus Dr. B. A.M. University, Aurangabad is conducted. The biomass and total organic carbon of standing trees is estimated by non destructive method. The tree height and girth is taken into consideration for the measurement of biomass and carbon content. The height of tree is measured by using a theoretical model and concept is used for actual measurement of 20 different tree species having diameter > 10 cm. Theodolite is used for the measurement of angle between tree top and observer. The total biomass and total organic carbon has been determined and compared with Allometric model. At the time of estimation of organic carbon storage by Allometric model, the study revealed that Allometric model based on theoretical model can success used to determine the tree biomass by non-destructive method.
