ABSTRACT
A simple and specific UV/Visible spectrophotometric method was developed for the simultaneous determination of naproxen sodium and sumatriptan succinate in tablets. The UV/Visible spectrophotometric method involves the simultaneous equation method at 231.0 and 227.0 nm over the concentration ranges of 0.5-3.5 μg/mL for both. The methods were validated for linearity, precision, sensitivity, and specificity. The linearity was found to be in the range of 0.5-3.5 μg/mL for both the drugs. The methods were specific because no interferences from the tablet excipients were found and therefore, the proposed methods were successfully applied for the routine quantitative analysis of tablets containing naproxen sodium and sumatriptan succinate.
