ABSTRACT
The lower educational status of SC is the issue of concern of government.Despite several policy implementation quantitative & qualitative achievement in SCeducation is not satisfactory. This paper discusses the factors influencing enrolment,dropout and achievement of SC students. Adverse socio-economic condition of thefamily, bad quality of schooling, discrimination in education, inadequate provisions andimplementations of reservation policy, language problems, gender disparity and weakrepresentation of SCs in curriculum are the factors which have influenced the presenteducational status of SCs. s
