Persistent hyperinsulinemic hypoglycemia of infancy (PHHI) or congenital hyperinsulinism is considered the most common cause of severe hypoglycemia in the neonatal period with a high risk of subsequent brain damage and seizures, and sometimes mortality. There are no published studies from India reporting the results of surgical management of PHHI.
