ABSTRACT
A series of novel 2-Aryl-N-(3,4,5-trihydroxy benzamido)-4-thiazolidinone derivatives (3a-i) were synthesised by reacting various Schiff bases of Galloylhydrazide (2a—i) with thioglycolic acid. The newly synthesised compounds were characterized by IR, MS, 1H NMR and elemental analysis. The compoundswere evaluated for antitubercular activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37Rv by Microplate Alamar Blue Assay (MABA) method. The experimentalresults revealed that compounds 3a and 3i exhibited promising antitubercular activity.
