ABSTRACT
Cengiz Aytmatov is such a narrator who in hisworks could carry out love, struggle between good andbad, inescapable destiny, war, education, individual andsocial crises caused by the authoritarian regime. Bymaking use of these kind of topics and plots, he was ableto come through giving national and universal messages. “The hunt” and “hunting” is also one of his topicsreflected from different perspectives in his works. In hisworks such as White Ship (Beyaz Gemi), Dreams ofFemale Wolf (Disi Kurdun Rüyaları), Pied-dog Running atthe Shore (Deniz Kıyısında Kosan Ala Köpek), The DayForfeit for the Age (Gün Olur Asra Bedel), FarewellGülsarı (Elveda Gülsarı), Aytmatov plotted that “thehunt” and “hunting” is not harmful if it was the part ofthe nature and natural life, but it is harmful andunacceptable if it was dangerous for the life of humanbeing and the nature. When “the hunt” and “hunting”turns over a dangerous activity, it could cause someinduvidual and social tragedies.In this study, we will tackle with the reflections of“the hunt” and “hunting” in Cengiz Aytmatov’s works andthe effect of his appraches in the society.
