Juveniles of the African cat fish Clarias gariepinus (Teugels) of standard length 16.50 ± 00.25 cm and weight 14.75 ± 1.25g were exposed to methanol extract of Tephrosia vogelii F. (Hook), ten each in a glass aquaria of nominal concentrations 0, 2.40, 2.45, 2.46, 2.50, 2.55 and 2.56 mgl-l in three replications for 96hours to determine the acute toxicity using flow through bioassay. Symptoms of toxicosis such as agitated swimming, loss of balance, ventral resting position, and death were observed.
