Tribes of Surguja and Korea region in Chattisgarh

In this study we screened in tribe’s of Chhattisgarh (Surguja, Korea). The plant selection was completed with the help of local healers because they use in daily lifeagainst antifungal & antibacterial. There are 23 plants observed different activity against pathogens. The information was gathered from gond, orrawn,korwa,baiga etc .These tribes incorporated in Our integrated approach of botanical collections, group discussions and interviews with questionnaire duringsearch of plants year 2009-2010. Among 24 informants interviewed, 5 were tribal practitioners. A total of 23 medicinal plant species distributed in 1 7 familiesare documented. Normally fresh part of the plant was used for the preparation of medicine and food also. These tribal people still depend on the medicinal plantsto cure their diseases and disorders in Surguja, Korea forest region. The documented ethno medicinal plants were mostly used to cure wound infections, skininfections, stomachache, fever, cough, diabetes, diuretics, diarrhea, eye infections and general weakness.
