Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST) are mesenchymaltumors with original histologic features which locatedprimarily in the gastrointestinal tract and abdomen. Mostcommon place for GIST is stomach (50%) and then thesmall intestine (25%) but GIST can be anywhere in thegastrointestinal system.
