In this study, new and rapid method indicating ultraviolet spectroscopic method was developed and validated for the estimation of Etodolac in pure form and intablet formulation. The adequate drug solubility and maximum assay sensitivity was found in methanol. The absorbance of Etodolac was measured at 280nm in thewavelength range of 200 - 400 nm. The linear calibration range was found to be 80% -120%. This method was validated and applied to the determination ofEtodolac in tablet. No interference was found from tablet excipients at the selected wavelength and analysis conditions. It was concluded that the developedmethods are accurate, sensitive, precise, and reproducible. They can be applied directly for the estimation of drug content in pharmaceutical formulations.
