ABSTRACT
The software service market is still increasing. Planning and monitoring the software development progress are the top priority for developing high quality software. At the same time, with increasing specialization in the workforce and decentralization in the workplace, software process planning, monitoring, analysis and dynamic tuning in a heterogeneous distributed environment have become a challenge and attracted a lot of attention in industry and academia. This research has developed a web-based monitoring framework to assist project managers in tracking and managing the progress of a software development project. The proposed framework is designed on the basis of software development process and software progress metrics which were visualized with dimensional analytic model in this research. Furthermore, the developed web-based software progress monitoring framework has been implemented in a leading financial system provider and received a positive comment.
