Merits and demerits of analytical and synthetic approaches to designing of information systems of one subject domain are analysed. The method combining advantages of both approaches, and recommendations about its use is considered. The object of automation is the organizational control system of regional agriculture complex. Principles of information modeling are applied, analytical models of business processes and business functions are defined. The example of designing of the structure of information and analytical system for the multilevel hierarchical organizational control system of agrarian and industrial complex and ways of formation and aggregation of the accounting information within the limits of the given system is considered.
