ABSTRACT
Compressing an image is different than compressing raw binary data. Of course, general purpose compression Techniques can be used to compress images, but the result is less than optimal. Statistical properties of image have been exploited by encoders specifically designed for them. This also means that lossy compression techniques can be used in this area. In this paper, cuckoo algorithmis integrated with genetic algorithm in image compression framework. Here image compression is implemented with the combination of cuckoo search and genetic algorithm optimization with Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT). The experimental result clearly shows that the efficiency proposed image compression method is better than other based on statistical parameter of PSNR, MSE and CR.
