ABSTRACT
The article presents the results of empirical research on theRussian mentality. A regional sampling (inhabitants ofTomsk region of the Russian Federation) provided the basisfor investigating the attitude towards paternalism asconcerning the governmental authorities and describing thepsychological profiles of its two empirical types, such as"agreement paternalism" and "obedience paternalism". Theinterconnections of the paternalistic attitude, the Russianselfidentitystructure, and certain socialdemographiccharacteristics have been analysed. The article describesspecific features of the paternalistic attitude and the selfidentitystructure of the participants of a business supportprogramme in the Russian Federation.
