ABSTRACT
The following document is a case report of the project “Digital Literacy at Guambia territory: a contribution to the construction of interculturality”. This is an initiative sponsored by the investigation vicerector office of the University of Cauca. It has been developed by the research groups of telematic engineering, pedagogical linguistic and sociocultural studies from Colombian southwest along with the Guambia territory community (Silvia, Cauca) during the years 2006 and 2007. The purpose of the project is to analyse the sociocultural impact regarding the introduction of principles, methods and technologies of Digital literacy on Guambíacommunity. It contains the justification, a statement of the problem, a methodological development of the project as well as the results achieved by the different team works concerning topics related to the diagnosis of telecommunication and information technology infrastructure in the community, the availability of education through telematic technologies, and the requirements and implications of constructing technological terminology in their guambian language (namui wam).
