A combining adaptive fuzzy-wavelet control algorithm is proposed for a class ofcontinuous time unknown nonlinear systems. An application of wavelet networks to controlproblems of nonlinear systems is investigated in this work. A wavelet network isconstructed as an alternative to a neural network to approximate a nonlinear system. Basedon this wavelet network and fuzzy approximation, suitable adaptive control laws andappropriate parameter update algorithms for nonlinear uncertain (or unknown) systemsare developed to achieve tracking performance. The stability analysis for the proposedcontrol algorithm is provided. A nonlinear system simulation example is presented to verifythe effectiveness of the proposed method.
