ABSTRACT
The idea of “community” has became a common source for several contemporary philosophers that have attempted to think on politics as the privileged place of the event, from what we could call a “negative ontology” background - i.e. which thinks the being as abysmal-.In this article we aim to follow some Italian and French authors which draw a debate around this issue, in order to explore, despite their different theoretical traditions, the possibility of thinking alterity through a concept of ‘community’ radically separated from the modern idea of ‘social bond’. We will specially refer to Maurice Blanchot, Jean-Luc Nancy, Jacques Derrida, Massimo Cacciari and Roberto Esposito.
