CONCEPTUAL APPROACH TO THE MANAGEMENT OF INTERFIRM RELATIONS IN THE SUPPLY CHAIN

ABSTRACT
The need of dynamic response to market signals and rapidly changing economic situation causes the need to manage the interfirm relationships in the supply chain on the basis of systemic comprehensive approach.The issues of the systemic management of interfirm relationships were investigated by the following authors: A. I. Pushkar, A. A. Pilipenko, Y. E. Zhu­kov, N. A. Kizim, A. V. Balabanits. However, the aspects of the formation of the conceptual approach to interfirm relations mana­gement in the supply chain are not explored enough in the scientific literature.A conceptual approach to the management of interfirm relations in the supply chain was developed by the example of the enterprises that work in the energy engineering industry. The authors formulated seven provisions of the conceptual approach.The authors identified the key terms that were used in the formation of the conceptual approach, and formed the conceptual apparatus with indication of the connection between the following concepts: the supply chain, interfirm relationships, a partner, integrated group, management system of interfirm relationships, value of interfirm relationships, key competences, effectiveness of interfirm relations, integration, development of interfirm relationships.The authors justified the need of forming the management system of interfirm relations to ensure the sustainable implementation of the complete set for complex energy facilities on the basis of long-term partnership in the integrated group.In the article a model of a three-phase process of the interfirm relationships management for integrated group was designed and built. At the first phase the formation of the composition of the integrated group participants takes place, at the second phase the control system of interfirm relationships is created; the third phase involves the development of interfirm relationships.The essence of the value-oriented approach to the management of interfirm relationships, chosen as the basis was revealed. It was hypothe­sized that the value’s elements are interrelated and interdependent. The values, which were expressed in non-material form, might result in the appearance of the values in material form. The authors proposed to order the value’s elements in the form of a network structure.The factors influencing the processes of formation and development of interfirm relationships were reviewed and summarized. In the article the main principles of developing management system of the interfirm relationships system were investigated. To systematize the factors the authors suggested consolidation of their division into groups: external factors, internal factors, compatibility factors and systemacy factors.The conclusion is that the key idea of the proposed conceptual approach is the achievement of the values by all the participants of the process, based on the outlined management principles. In the future the conceptual approach would serve as a basis for the formation of metho­dological approaches to the assessment of the interfirm relationships value.
