A test case in software engineering is a set of conditions orvariables under which a tester will determine whether anapplication or software system is working correctly or not.The mechanism for determining whether a software programor system has passed or failed such a test is known as a testoracle.Defect prevention is the most vital but habitually neglectedfacet of software quality assurance in any project. Iffunctional at all stages of software development, it cancondense the time, overheads and wherewithal entailed toengineer a high quality product. The key challenge of an ITindustry is to engineer a software product with minimumpost deployment defectsThis paper will focus on finding the total number of defects ifthe test case shows that the software process not workingproperly. That has occurred in the software developmentprocess. For three similar projects and aims at classifyingvarious defects using first level of Orthogonal DefectClassification (ODC), finding base causes of the defects anduses the learning of the projects as preventive ideas.
