This article presents an overview of longacting products used in animal health, productionand reproduction. The topic represents a niche fieldof controlled release that few formulation scientistsbecome specialists and experts in, but it is a fieldwhich has made significant contribution to the area ofcontrolled release technology, and one which is of majorimportance to human kind due to their dependence onfarmed animals as a source of hide, protein, milk andeggs.
