This paper deals with the generation of GPS signals using FPGA based Xilinx System Generator 9.2. Wehave considered L1 frequency band as it is mainly used for commercial, civil aviation and other purposes.Once the GPS signals are generated in the simulated laboratory environment we can test the properworking of multichannel GPS receiver which is an extension of this project. After we obtain accuratelaboratory results, we can go for real GPS signals. The board that has been used for the hardwareimplementation is Lyrtech SFF-SDR board, which is having three functional layers. The bottom layer is thedigital signal-processing layer, middle layer is the ADAC MASTER III layer and the upper layer is RFlayer having a transmission and receiving capacity of 1 GHz. This will lead to the development ofindigenous digital GPS signal generator using reconfiguration.
