ABSTRACT
Tehran, have been studied for effectiveness of intravenous Gamma-Globulin treatment. The diagnosis was based upon patient's history, physical signs and cerebrospinal fluid changes, in addition, electromyographic and nerve velocity conduction studies in some of them. Patients were divided into 3 groups: Control group (Without any pharmacologic treatment), short-term corticosteroid administration, and intravenous Gamma-Globulin therapy (Groups consisted of 16, 8 and 9 patients respectively). The results were evaluated according to short or long term response to treatment. There was no significant difference in short term response to treatment in all three groups, the long term response being significantly better in the group treated with intravenous Gamma-Globulin than in the other 2 groups.
