Buffalo embryonic stem cells are isolated from in vitro derived pre-compact buffalo embryos of slaughter house origin. Various reproductive causes leads to low production in buffaloes. To overcome these problems, embryonic stem cells are valuable research tool. These cells are cultured in different feeder layers and multiplied in different passages. These cells are further characterized by the presence of transcription based markers such as Oct4, Nanog, Foxd3 and Klf4. Moreover, these cells have tremendous potential and used in clinical applications.
