HEAT OF COMBUSTION OF SOME SATURATED DICARBOXYLIC ACIDS FROM GROUP CONTRIBUTIONS

ABSTRACT
The heat of combustion of nine saturated dicarboxylic acids were determined using an oxygen bomb calorimeter according to standard method. The experimental results were compared with theoretical data obtained from Handrick group contribution method. For all nine saturated dicarboxylic acids, calculated and measured heat of combustion differ only ±1,7% on average.
