This work’s purpose is to analyze the factors associated with learning disabilities in epilepsy, of special relevace in the pediatric age. The key to the solution of these is the correct initial diagnosis and the optimized treatment. The extensive use of noninvaive functional neuroimaging techniques such as Magnetoencephalography in the early diagnosis of drug-resistant epilepsies is key to prevent cognitive deterioration and learning disabilities, and should be extendedly used in every comprehensive epilepsy unit.
