ABSTRACT
The article describes the main aspects of the formation of innovation policies that contribute to high rates of innovative development and international competitive status of the national economy in the context of European integration. Conceptual-categorical apparatus for innovation and innovation, legislation, capacity for innovation and development trends of scientific and technological activities in Ukraine are analyzed. The basic directions of innovation policy at the strategic and tactical levels are suggested. The basic types of models of scientific and innovative development, as well as the formation of the main levers of innovation capacity are examed. The innovative activity of domestic companies in the last ten years are analyzed. The main directions of the state innovation policy in the leading countries of the world, and the necessity of formation of the state innovation policy aimed at enhancing science, technology and innovation are characterized
