ABSTRACT
This research fits into the theme of the study of crime in the province of Trujillo, from 1824 until 1862. Crime, object of study, closely related to three aspects: legal, criminal and punitive allow us to approach to the knowledge of the mechanisms of functioning of the Trujillo society. The criminality phenomenon among many causes respond to different political junctures initiated with the wars for independence; the caudillistas wars, the break economic; the lack of jobs; idleness; the consumption of alcohol, and cultural that influence on the increase of criminality.
