The present article aims at analyzing the issues of genderand citizenship at Niketche, a novel of Mozambican writer Paulina Chiziane,taking into account the problematic relationshipbetween male and female; the female is, firstly, dominated by the male which has economic and social power, but secondly, she conquers economic independence.
