ABSTRACT
In constructivist approach, teachers are of great importance in helping students construct their pre-knowledge, finding out and removing students’ misconceptions acquired through their previous experiences, and setting up a learning environment. Therefore, it is thought to be necessary to determine the opinions of the pre-service science teachers, who will apply constructivist approach in their professional life, toward constructivist approach. In this study, “the constructivist approach opinion scale” developed by researchers for pre-service science teachers is applied to pre-service teachers in fourth and third classes in Science Education department in Buca Faculty of Education at Dokuz Eylul University. The data gathered from this study are analyzed according to different variables. The analysis of data has shown that the opinions of pre-service teachers about constructivist approach are positive. In addition, , there is no significant difference in the opinions of pre-service teachers about constructivist approach in terms of independent variables, such as sex, age, class and high school graduation.
