ABSTRACT
Our paper investigates the changes in the lives of truck drivers in the last 50 years. The globalization has increased the movement of people and products are growing demand beyond the need for greater speed and fluidity. Using thematic analysis, we interviewed 86 drivers who work or have worked in this capacity over the past 50 years, under a non-governmental organization that works with education and driver training, from Concordia (SC) Region. The results point to increased pressure on these labor workers, diminished control of the instruments of labor solidarity and fragmentation.
