This paper presents the software tool Easy Java Simulations (EJS) designed to build the interactive applications in Java. It has been created to be used by students, professors and scientists without special programming skills, and it is particularly suitable for use in engineering education. The problem known in optimal control theory as brachistochrone problem is considered confirming the ability of EJS tool to build networked solutions with high degree of interactivity andvisualization.
